My name is Corey. I am a wife, mom of three, and certified elementary school teacher. When I was in college, I would have loved to get a degree in "Motherhood," but since that wasn't an option, I decided to get my elementary education degree. I taught third grade, first grade, and kindergarten before having my first daughter, Annie, in 2007. Less than 15 months later, we welcomed our son Jesse into our family and in August of 2010, Molly joined us! This is us...
The activities posted here are not only fun, but they will also promote growth and development in your toddler. When you and your little one engage in these meaningful activities you are spending quality time together and giving your toddler a head start in learning.
You know your child best. Use the ideas that are provided according to your toddler's ability and interest level. Follow along with us and do each new theme weekly, or just pick and choose from past themes. I hope everyone enjoys Teach Your Tot. My kids and I do!

Hi Zinthia! Congratulations on your little man! Michele keeps me updated on everyone from Wekiva! I hope that you enjoy Teach Your Tot and can use some of the ideas with Noah! And you are right...17 months is a very active age! ;-) Our little Molly is quickly approaching that age and she is into everything!!!
Hi Corey! This is great. I can't wait to start doing some of these fun activities with Gus and Erik. Thanks for telling me about it.

Hello my name is Emy and I'm new to Teach your tot. My son is 4 and has lots of fun in preschool. My son is on the spectrum and is what is considered "high function". He is very active with lots of energy since he was a baby. Are there any recommendations for at home activities?
Hi Emy! Welcome to Teach Your Tot! I hope you find some of the themes and activities helpful! I would deinitely incorporate some of them into your day and maybe try switching activities often, going outside alot, and engaging in a lot of the movement activities! For example, if we are learning about shapes, instead of just reading books and showing him pictures, draw shapes on the sidewalk and have him jump into all of them! I have a 4 year old son too, and I know they need to release a ton of energy throughout the day! I hope this helps!
Hi I'm in seach of activities for children around 18 months l. Are there many on the site I can use? Many that I'm not doing everything for them?
