I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont

National Children's Book Week
Book 2:  I Like Myself
My kids LOVE this book.  They think it is hilarious!  It also sends a great message about liking yourself for who you are inside!

Activity 1:  All About Me
Materials:  pencil, paper, photo of child, glue
Description:  You and your toddler can make an All About Me collage.  Have your little one draw a self-portrait.  You can weigh and measure your little one and glue a favorite picture of them onto a large piece of paper.  You could also both think of things that you like about your child and write those words on the paper.
Skills Targeted:  teach your tot to like themselves, teach your tot to draw, teach your tot motor skill development, teach your tot to measure

Activity 2:  Hand and Foot Prints
Materials:  paint, paper, paintbrush
Description:  Make your toddler's hand and foot prints, by simply painting the palms of their hands and the bottoms of their feet and stamping them onto a piece of paper.
Skills Targeted:  Teach your tot to be creative, teach your tot sensory development, teach your tot to recognize body parts
