Since summer is winding down and a new school year has begun, my kids and I have gotten back into the routine of incorporating some learning time into our day. I made these sandpaper letters for my daughter when she was younger. I posted them here awhile ago, but since we are using them again now with my 3-year-old son, I wanted to share this idea again!
Sandpaper letters help your toddler associate the letter name or sound with the symbol. While your toddler traces the letter with their finger and says the letter name or sound out loud, they are stimulating their sense of touch, sight and sound.
To make these, simply trace and cut out each letter of the alphabet onto sand paper. Glue the letters to cardstock, punch a hole in the corner and attach them together with a metal ring.
