Here is the idea that we started with today. We had a little instrument making play date. The toddlers decorated their drums (which are baby food containers wrapped in paper). I pulled out our muffin tin, some markers, and bingo stamps and let the kids get creative.
The drums came out great.
Next we went outside to fill water bottles with rocks, to make shakers. However, my two and three year old seemed more interested in gathering acorns in their buckets.

As they were doing this, I thought it would be fun to create something with the acorns. So while they were still filling their buckets, I simply wrote their names on paper. When they finished, they helped me glue the acorns onto their names.
This is my three year old!

And this is my two year old! hehe!
He decided he would rather glue rocks to make his name! Whatever works!!! ;-)This activity was very very easy and was great for letter and name recognition, motor skill development, and counting (we counted the acorns too).
